With the amount of internet data we use in our daily lives increasing, the amount of electricity used by the internet is also accelerating with it. This immense consumption of energy from internet usage has a huge carbon footprint and as such, we are working towards minimising the energy usage of our own website where we can.
Taylors of Harrogate work hard to follow sustainable principles and sustainable energy initiatives should start at home. With that in mind, we have now included a ‘low energy’ feature on our website as an option when browsing. Enabling the ‘low energy’ feature will remove unnecessary visual elements from the website.
Turning the low energy feature on will change a few things.
- Dark mode will be enabled
- Animations will be turned off
- Images will become black & white
- Background decorations, illustrations & textures will be removed
